Rares Andrei Ionescu

Balancing high-level tennis with rigorous academics at one of Bucharest's top high schools sets me apart from other student-athletes who choose to go for online school or go to specials sport schools. My dedication to both tennis and my studies has taught me to manage my time efficiently, never sacrificing performance in either area. I’m committed to continual growth—not only sharpening my technique and physical skills, but also building mental toughness. Consistency, focus, and accountability define my approach; I want to get better and never make excuses.

My goal is to become the best version of myself, as a player, as a teammate, and as a person. For me, playing college tennis isn’t just about competing at a higher level; it’s about becoming part of a team. I see college as the place where I can combine my love for the sport with a great education. Whether my path leads me to a professional career or another pursuit after graduation, I know that everything I learn through tennis will help me in my life.
